Update. My oldest son SGT Aaron M Smith was killed in Afghanistan on 2 Oct 2009. He was deployed for his second tour in support of OEF. He was awarded a Bronze Star for his actions on that day. I was also awarded the Bronze Star for my actions in Iraq. I am willing to bet there are very few father and sons who have been awarded this award for the same conflict in two different theaters of operations but have not bothered to look. I am very proud of the man my son became in his life and I just wanted the world to know that he represented the best of us.

Let’s see... married divorced and remarried, three grown kids. I joined the Army Aviation right out of high school, lived in/visited around 14 countries since graduation. I retired from the Army on 31 January 2009 after 25 years and went to work with the Department of Veterans Affairs in TopekaKS as a Recruiter for the CPAC expansion and am currently in the process of re-working the hiring process for the VA. .
This last year has been the hardest of my entire life and if it had not been for my other two children and wife I would not have survived it.

I am also presently working in landscape design, a new career for me! I've lived in NC now for 24 years. Look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion. The last one we had, I was at a Dance competition in Las Vegas!

I did my 4 years at Camp Pendleton and have been with the U.S. Postal Service ever since. I married a California girl in 1986 and we're still going strong. I visit my parents in Annandale at least once a year. Things sure have changed there. Sorry I missed the reunion. Maybe the next one. Take care all!
